Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Brassard, Derick
  2. Mayhew, Gerald
  3. Thompson, Nate
Additional Details:
Right now, the Flyers sit at 49/50 contracts. This would make a deal involving Giroux fairly difficult. So the flyers take on Ritchie who, despite what people may think, is not a negative asset. He hasn't worked out in Toronto but his shooting percentage is at an all-time low and still has the potential to put up 10-15 goals next season. In return, they free up some roster spots allowing a Giroux trade.
PHI
  1. Ritchie, Nick
  2. 2023 6th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
The Leafs free up some cap space and get some depth option as well.
2.
TOR
  1. 2022 4th round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
Someone to play for them next year as they don't have many players under contract. He's not having a good year but has had decent years in the past. Worth a flyer for the Yotes

I think Dubas will have to attach a 2nd round pick to dump Ritchie. Trading Holl is considered blasphemy on CFACGM.

Mayhew and Brassard are both better than Ritchie. No thanks.

Flyers don’t consider that. All the pieces they give up are better than Ritchie

I mean, they could easily just put Brassard or Thompson on waivers and lose both players for nothing if they really need spots. If not move them in a trade for a late pick.

I think you are making it sound like Tor is helping Philly more then Philly is helping Tor. Not the case, IMHO.

Ritchie on waivers and no one claimed him. that is the definition of a negative asset.
