Description
Based on a previous post (@majormoose007).

Canucks get:
- Young, controllable RD who has looked good with limited ice time
- A couple high picks and a prospect

Leafs get:
- A cheap PPG guy (175 points in his last 173 games) for a playoff run and for next year (super important for cap purposes as many Leaf fans know)

Also, if Muzzin comes back before the playoffs there is enough room to add him to the current roster and if he doesn't, maybe another trade can be made? What should the Leaf's upgrade next if they could add to one more position?

I don't think trading marner was ever a serious consideration. Now if they get swept out again in the first this year then who knows.

If we are out in the first round we will see Willy Styles move as he will be the easiest of the big fout to trade.
He has good contract and the Leafs wouldnt need to take on any bad contracts to accommodate a trade. You can also make a pure hockey trade for a Dman.

Canucks fan won’t like it but ya I agree that’s a strong offer.
If muzzin is gonna be out, I think getting Gio is the way to go. Maybe dermott and a second? Not that I wanna take Brodie away from Rielly but it would be an easy transition to get him and play him with Brodie. At least some of the time.
Maybe if he likes it in Toronto he would even resign next year for a reasonable price.

Ya previously I had always said you gotta trade marner if you’re gonna break it up because he can give you the most cap to spread out the lineup but if chychurn could still be had in the off season and we fail again, they should move nylander either to get him or to get the assets to then flip to Arizona.

nope if you aren't including one of Knies or Niemela they'll just trade him somewhere else. Retention is also gonna increase the already huge price and this offer does nothing to help their cap issues which is one of the reasons they're trading Miller
