Description
There is not much for me to say about this team. These are some logical moves that I think the leafs could do which would inhance their team for the coming playoff. These would be deadline but most likely before the deadline as that will set the market. I'm not trading Rodion Amirov because of his medical situation. These moves do depend on if Muzzin returns however because that will affect the cap. I am refraining from using prospects because I do not know the value of the leafs system well enough to fairly judge what the player is worth. Other than Muzzin the players on the LTIR and IR are players that are in the organization and could be relavant in the playoffs. This would be a playoff roster to that has no salary cap restrition. All the lines shown are possible lines to have in the playoffs.

Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Blackwell, Colin
  2. Giordano, Mark ($3 retained)
Additional Details:
I am open to any critisism about these trades but especially this one because I struggled to find Giordano's value when considering his age, play, contract, and playoff history. His work ethic is very impressive.
SEA
  1. Krys, Chad
  2. 2023 1st round pick (TOR)
  3. 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
  4. 2024 3rd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
This may seem like a lot or a little but I believe due to the lack of picks that the leafs have this year, they will try and use some of their future picks as shown in the Nick Ritchie trade. This breakdown of the trade includs:
1st (2023) + 3rd (2023) = Giordano + retained salary
Krys + 3rd (2024) = Blackwell
The equation is a bit of though as I think that some of the third covers Blackwell as well. Krys would be an interesting asset to recieve as he is still young enough to have potential but is also older and more mature and could serve as a role model for the players on the Cochella Valley Firebirds. The trade above is more of a quantity over quality trade but that is important to the new Seattle Kraken as they must need to build up organizational depth and these picks will help them do that. Sorry about the retained salary above it is meant to be 3 375 000 dollars.
2.
TOR
  1. Chara, Zdeno
  2. Greene, Andy
Additional Details:
This trade would give Toronto very experianced depth that you could use if Muzzin got hurt again or if Giordano or RIelly was injured for a little bit. This also doesn't rush Sandin into certain situations. It also doesn't force you to play Ljiligren either which would be big for the playoffs. Green and Chara all told probably are not worth much value wise considering their age but they can still play top four minutes if they need to. I think Chara may be the more valuable player.
NYI
  1. Scott, Ian
  2. 2023 6th round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Ian Scott really needs a change of scenery to get his career back on track as he has had a very tough time with injuries in his career. He has also been surpased on the depth cart by Woll, Hutton, and Hutchinson so there is not enough room for him left in the organization.
3.
TOR
NYI
Green's playoff experiance to the leafs would be quite immeasurable though as he has gown on many runs with teams such as the Islanders and is a capable bottom 2 defenceman that could also be strached. Very similar to the Hutton trade of last year but he was also younger and more physical. Now that I'm truely thinking this through though he could get a fifth.
    4.
    BUF
    1. 2024 4th round pick (TOR)
    Additional Details:
Goaltending depth is quite good in the playoffs and Anderson was very good for Washington last year when he was called upon. He will be also playing (believe it or not) infront of a very good defencing team. He has also been quite good for Buffalo and would be an amazing personality to have in the room for Toronto which is why I think he would go for a fourth round pick. He would also be somebody that if Mrazek and Campbell are struggling could take over the #1 position in a playoff series. I truely think that Anton Forsberg of the sens would be the best fit but I think that the leafs would get outbid by teams like Washington, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Colorado, Minnesota, or virtualy any other contending team.
    5.
    TOR
    BUF
Plus the Senators do not really have plans to sell Forsberg at the deadline according to Bruce Garioch or Claire Hannah, (I can't remember which one) as they need stability in goal so it would take a very good offer probably with the a prospect and a pick to take Forsberg away from the sens
      6.
      OTT
      1. Kivihalme, Teemu
      Additional Details:
This is a trade that resorts the depth as the sens may need could use Kivihalme a little bit as well as the leafs could potentially use Agozzino but it really is just a roster swap.
      7.
      TOR
        JT Miller
        Quinn Hughes
        Nils Hoglander
        Vasily Podkolzin
        Tyler Motte
        Brock Boeser
        Elias Petterson
        Just Kidding
        VAN
          Future Cosiderations
I was acutally thinking about Tyler Motte but then realised that even though he would work well as a leaf the leafs really don't need him.

Main issue with Gio is that we have enough LHD. Sandin can hold down the fort in Muzzin's absence no doubt. It's RD that we need another top 4 guy for

It was mentioned that Ottawa won't trade Forsberg just to trade him, but I don't think that means they won't trade him. They aren't gonna run 3 goalies next season, and next year Gustavsson is on a one way deal. He'll be dealt almost assuredly. Probably just posturing for better leverage when trading one of the top goalie options available this deadline.

As for the Agozzino deal, it's a minor league deal, but a bad one for Ottawa. Agozzino is a really useful depth forward for a development focused Belleville squad. AHL vets who can drive offense are totally useful for supporting and insulating young prospects.

I get it with Aggozina but I think Lucchini or the person with the Italian souding name in the sens system does the same. I agree with Forsberg as I think what the sens are doing is that there trying to improve his value to trades. Someone may pay a first for him if there desperate or really want to go on a run such as Florida who could use him to help insulate Spencer Knight and Mack Gudza. That way he will also be protected from the harsh media as well.
