If the pick is a 3rd, I think the Canes consider it... a 4th and a 3rd liner for a young RD is rough though

Tried to take gardiners money too if he somehow can play again. But I understand the third

If he can play again, there's no reason to move him. He makes a little more than a million more than Ian Cole does for one year, and can QB the 2nd PP unit. Not just that, but he's given a FAR worse rap than he deserves. At least before all the bodywork, he was a great offensive defenseman and a talented puck mover. He needed to be given time in the top 4 over Edmundson but last year he played very well.

Not a big fan of what u did with the forwards
    Defense could be good though
Holtby seems like the perfect fit for us, but he’ll likely get offers from better teams I’d think

Sabres should not be touching that NJD trade. Mitts is under a great contract and has a better offensive ceiling than Zacha. He is also a year younger. Ryan Johnson is low-key a high quality prospect. Not someone I would just be tossing into trades. Even where he is at in his development right now, he would be among the best skaters in the organization. If you watched him in the WJC you would have seen his potential to be a 2nd/3rd pair D-man who would excel in puck possession, controlled exits/entries, and defending the top players on the other team
