Description
Just a compendium of trades I've seen around this board that deal with CBJ. I've liked them all, to varying degrees, and have gotten some positive feedback from their respective fanbases as well.

The Voracek trade could be done at the draft/ offseason. Everything else is presumed TDL.

Were it up to me, I'd trade Gus; but, I imagine if CBJ were to move Jake, they'd probably keep him around for the "veteran presence." He could be a TDL move next season.

Throwing it together to see what it would look like/ what anyone else can add.

Leaves plenty of room in the off-season for extensions. Laine would get around $8.5M x 6, Roslovic would be a QO player ($2.5M x 1), Boqvist would get a bridge deal - $3.6M x 3, Carlsson would get $.8M x 2, Tarasov would get $1.3M x 2.

  1. Lapierre, Hendrix
  2. McMichael, Connor
  3. 2022 1st round pick (WSH)
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (WSH)
WSH
  1. Berni, Tim
  2. Voracek, Jakub ($3,000,000 retained)
Additional Details:
This would be a three-way trade. WSH ends up with Voracek and Berni, and SEA would broker the deal, retaining an additional $1.5M.

This doesn't *have* to be SEA - I was just trying to think of rebuilding teams with a lot of cap space who would be willing to take on two young guys at the cost of some retained salary.

Caps would never give up both Lapierre and McMichael for Voracek. And two high picks on top of that? No way.

The idea for that trade came from here - https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/560200?post_id=3027772

Oilers want an upgrade in net, Korpisalo is more of what they already have.

Yeah, Korpi ain't been good...to say the least.

I hate doing the "it can be anywhere" thing, but honestly, my reasonably-best-case scenario for him right now is someone looking for an insurance policy for the playoffs throws a mid-rounder at CBJ for him.

CBJ made a similar trade for Keith Kincaid a few years ago. It was a 5th rounder a few years out for a G who never played, but was there in case Bob pulled a hammy or something.

As nice as that Voracek trade is, I really don't like the idea of moving him. We picked him up to be a mentor for developing kids and he's doing a good job. That's not the sort of role one just casually hands to whatever 30+ guy happens to be on the market.
