Description
Is DeBrincat ready to bring his record setting Jr. game to the NHL? We shall see! Is Emelin healthy as a rugged defenseman who Quenneville will play? Again, we shall see. Would Crawford agree to a trade to an up and coming team in the EC? Once more, we shall see. Moving Anisimov to the 3rd line might not be a bad idea. Obviously, at his cap hit he should be top six. Yet, if he does not contribute to a puck possession game by winning face offs, causing the Kane line to be chasers, that is not a good thing.

On to this team's name. McCub is a marketing guy. He can now do his thing targeting a certain community by having the van RiemsDYK brothers at his disposal. And because Bowman bucked his recent trend of trading his first rounder, why not add Toronta's this draft to give the locals at the UC two middle 1st rounders?

This is a joke right? The Toronto trade doesn't look terrible on paper but the other two trades look dreadful. Emelin's cap hit is the same as Hammer's, and Ward is such a downgrade that Carolina certainly would add something good in addition.

Appreciate the quick reply. My thinking is lowering the goalie position's cap hit more than anything. To trade Crawford, salary will be coming back for sure. Ideally, Darling is retained at a Ward-like hit but how does Crow and his $6M piece of the pie get moved? To Philly or CalGary? Vancouver? As far as swapping Hjalmarsson for the same hit in Emelin, Chicago needs to add some toughness in their zone, and Montreal desires another guy to play opposite of Weber. Thanks anyways, tho.

I suppose if Crawford waived his NMC and Vegas drafted him, that would be an answer to not bringing salary back and give the Hawks $6M to re-sign Darling and Panik. That most likely would mean Anisimov and Kruger would remain with the team.

I'll take a hard pass on the Montreal and Carolina trade.
If you're trading Crow you're not taking back a goalie with 3+M in cap space. Darling would be the starter in any Crawford trade. It would be better to trade Crawford for an overpaid forward that can play in the middle six than to pick up a goalie the Hawks don't need.
Hammer is more valuable than Emelin. They play a similar game but Hammer is much better at it. This benefits the team in no way. I'll pass.
