Description
These trades get them to a little over 20 million in cap for next season. Motto line earns 3 to 3.5 million to resign and Zacha probably gets 3x3 which gives them 14 million to use on a RHD, Top 9 winger, and a backup goalie.
Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Nash, Riley
  2. 2023 7th round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Arizona needs players under contract for next season and to get to the cap floor.
ARI
  1. Dickinson, Jason
  2. Poolman, Tucker
Additional Details:
Vancouver wants some flexibility in cap and these two players haven't worked out.
2.
VAN
  1. Zacha, Pavel
  2. 2022 1st round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Zacha has been on the block all season.
NJD
  1. Boeser, Brock
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
With the previous trade, the Canucks could afford to give Brock his 7.5 million qualifying offer and then work something out more reasonable long term the following season but if they can get a lottery pick and a roster player, I think they need to consider it.

If they keep Boeser, they only have 9M to spend on the same 3 pieces.

If they can't move Poolman or Dickenson, they can afford Boeser but can't make any real change to the lineup.

23 will be a better draft class. I could see that. But the 3rd would turn into a 4th.

The Devils...who have cap could just resign Zacha, their first round pick, sign a UFA (maybe Gaudreau) rather than trading for Boesner.
Arizona has lots of choices to get to the cap floor. Acquiring poor value cap players doesn't have to be one of them.

Devils aren't giving a top 5 pick for Brock, sorry.
