Description

to let anaheim deal go through rangers could also offer to be a broker for a third party team to get Lindholm by retaining an additional 25% of his salary (ducks retain 50%, then rangers retain another 50%). I think the offer is fair as is tho.

Chytil + 2nd for Henrique w/ Retention
Kravtsov + 1st for Rakell (instead of Kravtsov, rangers can also not trade for Kessel, use Kravtsov in that spot and send the 2nd from the Kessel trade to Anaheim)

Henrique is not worth his 5.8m price tag, but at 2.9m he'd be a valuable addition to the rangers as a 3c, he wins over 50% of his faceoffs (career 49.4% but 52, 55, 55.4, 57 the past 4 years). At only 600k more than Chytil it's worth the upgrade. If rangers don't resign Strome he could also be an EMERGENCY 2c if needed w/ Goodrow/Barron taking the 3c spot.

Next year Blais replaces Kessel, Othman/Cuylle/Goodrow/Barron/Free-Agent replaces Rakell (if they can't resign him). Resign Rooney, get rid of Nemeth and Georgiev and replace with league minimum contracts (Lundkvist/Jones/Robertson/Wall/Garand/Kinkaid).

IDK if there would be a better offer. The way I personally view it, Kravtsov+1st for Rakell is already a slight overpayment. NYR are still very high on Chytil and wouldn't consider him a throw in considering he's so young (only 22). Let alone with a 2nd in a deep draft too.

I was thinking the same thing- that ANA would want more to take on 2.9M for 2 years…that said- a lot to wrap ones head around with all the retention you have mentioned- including NYR eating some salary in their Lindholm deal (with whoever that deal is with)…Hey- maybe the “extra” if required here could be swapping Krav out and giving Lundqvist instead. All in all I do like the idea of Henrique for 3C- if he can be obtained with retained salary at a cost NYR can handle. That said- probably easier to just go get Stastny!

Stastny is only signed for this year, if I'm giving up a quality asset I would want it for a bit longer. If Lundkvist was involved in this trade I think the picks would be downgraded. Just my own thoughts.
