Devils don’t take that. Scandella is a cap dump (negative value at this point). Both Walman and Kostin aren’t super interesting pieces at this point in time

I don't think there's anything in this for the Devils.
Scandella is a cap dump and Devils already have a handful of forwards vying for spots on the NHL roster more talented than Kostin.
Walman seems to have decent possession metrics but LHD is not an area of concern either as Bahl, Hughes and Mukhammadulin are yet to enter the NHL. As such there's no need for him.
And that 3rd does in no way make up for what's lacking in value.
