Pretty sure LA says no. And doesn’t Hertl have a NMC on the extension. It’s a terrible look to move him after just extending him.

Well u must assume he accepts. The look is bad yes but if Hertl waives his nmc then it's not as bad. Why do you think LA rejects?

yeah lets sign our top line center to a new contract then trade him to our rival. Not only unthinkable but kinda dumb.

Clarke is going to be huge for them as Doughty continues to get older (he’s still great now, but they need to start looking towards the future as well). Plus they’ve already got a great center core of nhl players and prospect centers. Honestly think they’d be better off targeting someone like Forsberg in free agency as that just costs money and no assets to acquire.
