I don't think Vegas would consider that and I'd hate to lose Stephens, his speed is a worry for opposing PPs and we need that.

On the contrary. This actually could work

You’d dump Hague just to get rid of Dadonov and Brossoit?

OK. There's still a few things that worry me:
1. Both Dadonov and Brossoit are rentals that would have to be traded at the deadline and they're borderline cap dumps in value with how VGK has spent this year.
2. The "win" for Detroit would be Hague + what we get back for the other two at the TDL. Now LD happens to be the only position where we're not short of really good prospects. I'm very unsure about trading for trade pieces, Detroit should be past that phase of the rebuild now.
3. Stephens' speed really is a very good asset that I don't like losing. If he's replaced with Erne I'm much happier.

I feel Detroit should be focusing on improving the roster enough to have a good chance of making the playoffs instead of "wasting" a year in order to get a 2nd and a 3rd pick at next years draft that maybe will turn into a half decent player in 5-6 years time. We can put Stephens to good use on our PK and the others will be valuable contributors in Grand Rapids where we're short of players.

I don’t know how we afford Hague. Roy is more important IMO

We go into next year
