Description
Rationale: Leafs are going to make as few moves as possible to retain the core. Mikeyev is gone to free agency and Lybushkin walks as well. Vets Spezza and Gio come back cheap. Young RFA's in Sandin and Liljegren come back on good deals, but short term to prove their worth. Engvall is due for a raise, so will need to go, but you can use him as a chip to take Mrazek along with a 2nd. Kase will stay as Dubas gave him a chance, and will reward the Leafs because of that. Campbell may take slightly less than I predicted, but he will likely get offers over 5 million on the open market, so 5 is a safe bet.

This team is a little less deep than last year. But Sandin and Liljegren will take a step forward. I also predict Dubas will sign another forward that I can't predict that will be a similar Bunting/Kase restoration project with top 6 upside.

The sharks have three goalies, and don’t want Engvall. Not very realistic

Sharks easily decline, no need for either player and a 2nd is very low for taking those players on and sending one the other way. If you want the sharks to take them on I’d do Nieto for Mrazek, engvall, a 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder.

Won't cost that much to dump Mrazek, Sharks fans r mad because they just have no use for a goalie. A team like AZ or Buffalo with bad goaltending would take a shot on him for cheaper. If 5M is what it takes for Campbell (i'd be surprised if he got that) let him walk and make a trade or something for a goalie. Love him but 5M is steep for how relatively unproven and inconsistent he is.

Sharks would gladly take Engvall, he's made a ton of strides and is a solid 2 way 3rd liner. But I agree that it doesn't make sense for the sharks to take on Mrazek given their goalie situation.

I’d pass on him, we don’t need more third liners we need cap room for another top six
