Description
kane: assuming he wins his greivance, he'll get 50% of his 20mil owed on the contract. so with a 4x3 + 10mil from grievance would be equivalent money for him as a 7x3. Just comes to if he wants to play for Edmonton or go to a crappy team to chase the bag even with 10mil extra in the pocket.

Oilers have tons of LHD young assets so using one + a roster player and draft capital is a good way to get a cost-effective, versatile dman that's capable of defending. This way Seattle get a legit middle 6 piece that's got term and get another higher pick in a very deep draft class and add some young org depth on d.

Kass to zona makes sense. has term, is an NHL player and vet, and is not a backbreaking contract in terms of contract and actual salary to be paid. In terms of not great money to add, kassian is definitely on the more manageable side of those around the league that Arizona could acquire.

With klingberg surely leaving the stars this year, they will be looking for an ofd that can QB their powerplay and few have been as effective with that over the last 5yrs as barrie has been. PLaying in such a defensive system with gifted defenders can help reduce his defensive lapses and he can bring another dimension to the stars' scheme which the younger more offensive guys will definitely welcome.

For FA:

Id taker husso over Campbell. He was questionable for far too many areas of the season for edmonton to try and overpay for in FA. Husso having the playoffs he's having will help reduce his value in the open market and be a great option to create a solid, young, cost-effective tandem in the alberta capital.

With leafs cap situation, mikeyhev is attainable at a fair value. he bring so need speed and forechecking ability to the middle 6 and is very versatile. He would be a perfect fit alongside drai or mcdavid.

Lazar and re-signing kulak are some great cheap options that help round out the depth of this team and keep all areas of the lineup multidimensional

This team would scare the west and maybe even make the east sweat a bit. But then again this all hinges on Keith doing the right thing for hockey here.

got the pronger treatment. could easily buy him out or put him in the minors and would still have plenty of space. just more fun to throw him to the most ideal scenario. his butout would only have 530k hit 22-23 and 830k hit in 23-24

Dude's got a .938 in the playoffs after a .915 regular season. He was .923 last year. He's not gettong bought out or going to the minors. Be real.

Smith will be back next year + Kulak is more or less at the same value as Soucy and you likely don't need to pay him as much. I think Foegele + 2nd can get a better D man than Soucy

With the goalie market having a lot of high level talent come through it over the last few seasons, ignoring it again to gamble on a 40+yr old goalie again is asking for trouble. need something stable so that skinner doesn't have to have the pressure of being the hope of the franchise. Smith could play like Roy this playoffs, doesn't change his age and his pattern of up and down seasons
