Description
I have been reading some threads about Florida moving Bobrovsky. He could be moved, and I think it's realistic for Florida to take up to 3 mil in retention - still cheaper than buying him out. He would have to agree to waive.
For Sabres it's not that bad, getting bridge 1a goalie, his deal was front loaded, so he will cost less than cap hit, and if cap space would become an issue, he could be bought out from last 2 years of the deal.

On top of that Sabres take Hornquist deal to flip him to Washington, which replace Hagelin with Hornquist for 3rd pick.
Gudas is something Panthers add, since Buffalo is doing them a favour, and could really use his physicality.

Panthers clears 14 mil, they have money for Giroux, they have money for replacing Bobrovsky. They will have money to sign vets wanting to join President trophy winning team.

Rangers cant really afford to match Kakko offersheet, they cannot retaliate in the nearest future, and I would love to stick to them. Getting 2OA, who is still 21 for 2nd round pick - seems like a great deal. 2 year deal gives both sides some time to figure things out with a pressure.

I really don't know how the lines would be setup with a lot of same level winger, who are either rookies or could have breakout year.

For taking on both Hornqvist and Bob, you only want Gudas? I mean, I would think that just for Bob alone the starting to dump, since Florida has no high picks, would be Lundell.

complete waste of a 2nd and 4.2M in cap, Kappo is a bust and has little to no value

Absolutely not
In no way should we consider taking that Bobrovsky contract,
even if we get him at $7mil per

The last thing we should do- is a favor for the team we’re trying to catch

Now if they wanna trade us Knight,
that’s another story

Pass on Kakko as well

Yes, I am looking at it as Gudas for taking Hornquist, and then getting 1A goalie, that Sabres need. But Florida is retaining so that Bobrovsky, who is still proven goalie has cap hit of 7, rather than 10. It's him, or taking shot at Husso/Campbell for probably same cap hit.
I think, the retention is the ground for negotiation. I even took a look at potential buyout in 2 years.

I thought if Florida would want to trade full Bobrovsky deal, they would have to do it with Lundell or 2025 1st, since they have none sooner. But then, I don't think it would be something that Sabres be interested in.

So the deal would look like Bobrovsky + Hornquist + Gudas + Lundell for 5th rounder. Then you don't offer sheet Kakko, Hmm, maybe that is the way.
