Carolina should look at Marchy and Patches

As much as I love Patches, I think the Canes would be more interested in Marchy based on term remaining and cap hit. Get a third team to retain and I could see the Canes making that move. But what to give up. Even with a bit of a disappointing year for Necas, I would still value him a bit higher than Marchy based on age and potential, and Drury, Morrow, and Kochetkov are off limits. Probably Koivunen as well.

Suzuki, Bokk, 3rd and 4th round pick for Marchy? Send a 4th/5th to a third team for retention?

if Vegas is giving away Dadanov or Patches. I would take one of them.

I still think CAR should sign Forsberg. He feels like the perfect fit and doesn’t cost assets but it does dirty up the cap situation.

The UFA market has never been the place where the Canes thrive, you know the poverty franchise narrative. But Forsberg would be the guy. Forsberg-Aho-Turbo would produce a ton of offense.

Forsberg seems unlikely. He has 1 40 goals year and will get get paid accordingly. Unlikely to match his contract past year 2. Him and Gaudreau seem like the epitome of contracts that the Canes FO avoids.
