I have been looking at this as a potential option as well.

My one concern is that I think the Leafs can get a cheaper goalie such as Fleury as a ufa and unload Muzzin for a pick.

But I do see this trade making sense for both teams!

I don't think Varly wants to leave. LOL He has a NTC too.

So he can be traded to half the league. Muzzin has a modified NTC also.

Having a 4m goalie and a 5m goalie is a lot to have on the payroll! If they can put that cap into a dman or forward, it could make a lot of sense.

That's fair! A lot of players have all of Canada on their list based on all the Covid stuff.

A player could still re-evaluate. A contender like Toronto and the easing of restrictions could make someone change their list, considering he only has 1 year left on his contract.

Time will tell!
