Pretty easy no... even if you want to argue value (which I dont think you can) no team would destroy their roster for 1 player

He was a die hard Red Wings fan just like Aaron Ekblad that grew up hating the Leafs.

I believe you that they are die hard red wings fans (hey that was your old username haha) but I wouldn't think Detriot and Toronto don't have that much of a rivalry that players would refuse to go to the other team when they grew up liking one team. But I could be wrong.

Or have these players publically stated that they don't like the leafs?
