Miller for 5 OA from a Philly perspective

So it's almost the same team as last year who finished 5th from the bottom. So Flyers make the trade, finish out of the playoffs again, and now they don't have that 5th overall pick.
No non contender is trading for one year of Miller and risk losing a lottery pick.

Definitely a big improvement on the roster last year. Philly could do some damage if Ellis and Couturier and Hayes are healthy.

Yes Philly was very bad last year but in this scenario you're pretty much adding 4 top6 forwards/top4d players to the lineup that they didn't have last year in Ellis, Couturier, Hayes and Miller without subtracting anything.


I know a lot of flyers fans don't want to accept the fact that management COULD be very aggressive this summer in win now moves but fact of the matter is that's a real possibility and it could actually pan out well for them. They're locked into couturier and Hayes long term and they're hiring torts on top of word from ownership/management that they expect to be a playoff team. All signs point towards continuing forward rather than stepping backwards (ironically continuing forwards has the potential to be a huge step backwards)

Just making a fairer looking deal than the one a bunch of canucks fans have been pushing 12 times a day. Still don’t do it but don’t hate the lines either

Vancouver ain’t taking 10 M in exchange for 5M for Miller. That’s ridiculous and if you signed Zadorov to that deal you’d be castrated by the fans of Philly.

Laughton on the 4th line with the players ahead of him.. with those linemates is absolutely insulting.

This team is worse then the pathetic performance the Flyers put on display this season.
