Description
New Jersey and Chicago fans input is appreciated

- It's impossible to replace Letang with a player of equal value without giving up an absurd amount of draft picks and prospects which we don't have so we should just bite the bullet and resign him. The contract is an overpayment and is too long but it lowers the cap hit and by the end of it the team is gonna be garbage anyways so a contract like that isn't going to hamper the rebuild.

- Geno takes a discount due to the fact he wasn't worth $9.5 million the last few years and wants to be the first russian to win 4 cups.

- Petterson trade doesn't have to be Anaheim but I think a team will give up a late 2nd rounder for him.

- I think Kapanen will bounce back next year and Zucker will as well if he's healthy

- This team needs to be more physical and Miles Wood is one of the only guys in the league who will bring a physical presence to the bottom six without sacrificing speed. He's extremely difficult to play against. So we sell high on Heinen and I'd be willing to throw in a draft pick too.

- Murphy is a great defensive defenseman who will allow Matheson to rush the offensive zone routinely and not have as much defensive responsibilities sort of like what Dumoulin does with Letang. He's also more physical than Marino and can kill penalties. Chicago gets a younger D-man who they can develop into a star.

- I think the way the team plays leads to a lot of our smaller players getting injured by constantly sending them to the front of the net to get pummeled. I think by adding Wood and Murphy it makes us a bit more physical and in a playoff series you need to wear the other team down. We aren't sacrificing speed and I think both of these guys would fit into our system nicely
