MTL should have not resign Gallagher & Danault
Petry signing is fine tho
MTL were going into a rebuilt after the finals but Bergevin tried to patch the holes and of course it didn’t worked (sorry I shouldn’t have quote your quote)

Now you're assuming that Montreal would have still won the lottery despite having substantially reduced odds. We're talking probabilities here. It's actually more likely that you would have ended up with #3, #4 or #6.

I may be assuming they'd win the lottery yes but you're assuming they wouldn't have... while it may have been less probable (depending on the standings of this differentiated team) but still a viable option. MTL still could've finished dead last and still got 1OA
