If I were the Canes, the only thing that makes me think about this twice is losing Rask results in a fair amount of lost center depth. Otherwise, this is absolutely a deal I would do.....I'm less confident Chicago would go this route. Seems like a big price for the 2nd or 3rd best Canes young D-man and a second line center.

Seems reasonable from both sides. As far as them being UFA in 2 years, they have an entire year for each of them to get new deals done. Its not like just because they could hit UFA you cant resign them.

Lines for this assuming Vegas takes Kruger:
Schmaltz - Toews - Panik

But in the real world it's 2 much risk. If they walk specially Panarin canes would be back to square one with the rebuild.
