Another person who didn't do his homework to see how capfriendly calculates the overage. CapFriendly doesn't lower to ceiling to reflect overages, they simply add overages on top of the total value of the contracts to get a total cap hit. It's much simpler for them to do and much simpler for users to understand.

In your math you don’t account for overages however. You can have 20 contracts total under the 82.5 but say you have dead cap like a buyout, retained salary, or overages, then you HAVE to include that. Hypothetically if the leafs were to buyout a contract, would you include the buyout cost in your final cap hit or just proceed to look like an imbecile.
