Curtis Douglas is becoming a household name for more and more hockey fans to remember as he is the most intriguing prospect in the Maple Leafs organization being a 22 year old, massive forward at 6 foot 8 and over 240 pounds. He will be the largest forward ever to play in the NHL if he makes the Toronto Maple Leafs which would be an incredible accomplishment.

Kyle Dubas is a believer in Curtis Douglas and proved it when the Leafs recently signed him to a two year entry level NHL contract after he had just completed his first year in the AHL. Curtis Douglas proved after his first full season in the AHL to be someone that the Maple Leafs want to invest their future in. He has the potential to become a powerful fourth line center on the team and has strong faceoff skills, soft hands, deceptive speed who wears defenders out during puck battles, great anticipation, a hard and developing shot and the physical force to stop opponents from taking cheap shots at the team's players.

There is alot to like about Curtis Douglas and he just concluded his first season on the Toronto Marlies in the AHL and finished with 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points in 67 games but more importantly came on strong in points towards the end of the season and greatly improved in every single skill category possible. He especially improved his skating during the season by putting in alot of extra time working tirelessly with Randi Milani of the Leafs skating development team.

One of the first aspects that stand out about Curtis Douglas is his soft hands. Although he is incredibly tall, Douglas is able to maneuver around his opponents quite easily when he has the puck on the stick.

He is an intriguing player because he's so big and can play and if he can continue to become a stronger skater and use his size more, there may be an NHL roster spot with the Maple Leafs in his future. He has the potential to become one of the most imposing fourth line centres in the entire NHL which is why more and more hockey fans across the NHL are becoming aware of him and interested in following his career and hoping he can make the Leafs in a few years.
