Well not really. Varlamovs contract is expiring plus the cap is probably going up 1m. If barzal gets 8×9 and wahlstrom gets 3×3.5 then youre talking about ~2m for a solid backup goalie which is right on with this offseason (comrie, samsonov). It would mean no more mayfield but i dont think theyre gonna extend mayfield anyway.
