Canes behind the Rangers? Shesterkin isn't going to be a .940 goalie again and NYR still has a lot of defensive issues. Carolina got a new scoring winger in Pacioretty and upgraded DeAngelo for Burns. Kase is also a better depth add than most... Jarvis is going to be a year more experienced, Necas is going to be coming out of his funk. Drury is going to make the leap to the NHL, Bear isn't going to be suffering with long-term COVID and a nagging ankle issue, and Svechnikov is another year more experienced. I don't get this. You can point to goaltending, but Carolina's crease has a Vezina candidate (Andersen) a very solid starting option on a lot of teams (Raanta), and a top 5 goalie prospect in hockey (Kochetkov). I don't get this. I'm sure you have reasons, but can you explain this?
