Terrible deal for the islanders. That’s way too much draft capital to give up for Kane. Also Raty is untouchable for obvious reasons.

I’d trade this package for McDavid Lmao

NYI overall is too old for prospects and picks to have any value. Every team has a prospect like Raty and saying he is untouchable shows not only large team bias but also an ignorance to the overall state of the team.

Even if you think the trade is too much, if NYI give up less then this still works but better so I see no issue there.

I don't think Kane is worth more than a 1st and propsect, but the trade ALSO dumps salary and gets back a salary retained dman. Ultimately though 'trade balance' is less relevant here as simply accomplishing win now goals for an old team with moving out assets that don't help that.

Although it likely should have had Kane double retained and found a way to keep Beau and scratched out blackwell but overall not that serious of a thing

The idea that a team can be “too old to value picks and prospects” is beyond ridiculous. If you aren’t getting younger then you aren’t getting better.

Dumping Bailey doesn’t make this trade any better if ur also moving Beauvillier, Raty, Bolduc, TWO FIRSTS and TWO SECONDS. You have to be realistic here. This is a brutal take on your part.
