Foegele and Trenin are a wash in terms of last year’s production. Trenin is 1 year younger and has an AAV that’s about 1 million less. Add in the physicality and I’d say Trenin is worth more.

I really like samorukov as a prospect but Nashville already has too many nhl ready LHD and not enough RHD. Trading out a rhd for a lhd wouldn’t be of much interest.

The EDM/MTL could work but you'll have to pay a 3rd party team for the retention. MTL will be retaining on their 1yr remaining contracts only.

I don't think the Habs are using a retention slot on Hoffman. Has to be equal money in and money out for Barrie straight up. IMHO, I think they could add a pick/prospect to the Habs side to make the deal work because I think Barrie has a little more value than Hoffman at this point. I would gladly do Hoffman and a 3rd for Barrie.

nash declines. we have 0 use for foegele, and carrier is coming off a 30 point season. we're not swapping a RHD for a LHD thats further back in development
