I think he is suggesting that an injury resulting in a move to LTIR will free up cap space and Sandin can be signed. However, if that player comes off LTIR before the season is done, they are in trouble. Also, until someone goes on LTIR, minor injuries will result in the team playing with less than a full lineup. Pending any further roster moves.
