Description
Does this appear to be the team coming out of camp?

Assume that in order to maximize Ferland's LTI, Vancouver would paper waiver ineligible or least likely to be claimed players to Abbotsford; this would include Kuzmenko, Dowling, Rathbone, Burroughs and Hoglander. Then once the season starts, the team could recall most of the players after placing Ferland on LTIR.

All that being said, Hoglander will likely start in the AHL; it makes zero sense for him to play a 4th line role to start the season. As much as people will point to Pearson not belonging in a Top6 role, he had a solid season last year and produced well when set up with Miller. Injuries and slumps are going to hit Vancouver - they always do - and at that point, Hoglander would be called upon for a role that plays to his strengths.

If Hughes and/or OEL are rotating between LD and RD, then Dermott will likely pair with Myers, leaving Rathbone playing 3rd pairing minutes with a platoon of Schenn or Poolman.

The D still needs fixing. If Bo can't be signed to a reasonable deal, then perhaps he could be moved at the deadline for assets that can help support a D-corps retool.

Genuinely think Hoglander can have a strong enough camp to make our roster. Boudreau was very impressed with him today and talked very highly about him at camp

If Canucks don’t want him the isles will take him for a slightly used kieffer Bellows and a 3rd rd pick

“Let me talk about Högs,” Bruce Boudreau says, “He looks like the best player on the ice right now.”

For being thought to be in Boudreau's doghouse, he is impressing everyone big time this camp

I saw that earlier, but he deserves to be in a top 9 role. 4th line or AHL would be criminal

GM should just trade Pearson right now and open up a space for Hogs. Maybe Ruthford told Boudreau to play Pearson on the first line to fatten up his trade value
