Kings need Walker for now to play 2LD. Possibly at the trade deadline if someone else emerges to fill that spot.

Personally, I'd rather keep Brannstrom and see how much value his stock could take

I see him as having some kind of breakout season

Brannstrom could be that guy seriously

He has 27 pts in his last 83 games during the last 2 seasons where he was 21 then 22 y/o

And look at his game log :

He's had several games where the coach was relying on him. His game has been progressing. He's better than people think

I think Brannstrom could eventually become a quality NHL defenseman, but he's not there yet. The Kings have Bjornfot waiting in the wings to take on a bigger LHD role, but he's not there yet either.

The Kings aren't going to move away from their veterans until they're sure someone's ready to take over for them.

What does LA depth chart on defense looks like at the moment?

Anderson-Doughty
Walker-Roy
Edler-Durzi
Bjornfot

Spence and Moverare first call ups.

Brandt Clarke could throw a wrench in that and make the team. He looked really good at the rookie tournament and in yesterday's preseason game against San Jose. Probably a longshot due to age and depth chart.
