Description
Will be releasing my opening night predictions later. It will be based on this.

Promoted to NHL:

SAMBERG: Very simple. He played better in the NHL than he did in the AHL. Also displayed an excellent two-way game.

HEINOLA: Wasn't afraid to use his small frame last night against Montreal, even though he's 5'11''. Showed that he isn't afraid to be gritty despite that small frame, especially on the penalty kill.

PERFETTI: Played really well in a top line role with Connor and Dubois. Though I do think Bones will stick with a top line of Connor, Schief, and Ehlers. Meaning the second line will probably be Perfetti, Dubois, Wheeler.

GUSTAFSSON: Will make the team as a 4th line center. Plays a strong two-way game that I think Bones will love. He should be a part of our penalty kill which was really bad last year.

MAENALANEN: Possesses excellent size and skating. Will be playing a third or fourth line role. Excellent power forward that could complement some of our offense.

50/50:

BARRON: He's really hard to predict as he's been injured and hasn't played a preseason game. He must heal by next game in order to secure his spot in the NHL. If he does make it, expect him in a third-line role.

TONINATO: Other rookies like Gus and Barron are competing with him, its gonna be tough for him to prove himself worthy of the spot. Like Barron, he's harder to predict mostly because he's played only one preseason game.

LAMBERT: At the very best Lambert gets a nine-game trial. I know its one game, but Lambert was probably the main reason we won last night. One goal, one assist isn't bad for an 18-year-old. If he does play in Seattle, which I think he should do, he should get a top line role there to revive his potential.

STANLEY: Its a 50/50 because he's simply been playing bad. Costly penalties, too many giveaways, and barely uses his size. Its amazing how I see a 5'11'' defender is able to use a size and a 6'7'' defender doesn't. One more bad game, I think he will be sent to the AHL and will play a top pairing role there. However, he is willing to round out his game and he knows his spot on the NHL roster isn't guaranteed.

I worry about the jets losing one or two of Kovacevic, Stanley, Gawanke and Berdin to waivers
if the jets D looks like this
Morrisey-Schmitt
Dillon-Pionk
Samberg-Demelo
then there are two spots, most likely, open for dmen. Pick two of Stanley, Kovacevic and Gawanke and probably send Heinola down again. Im probably higher on Kovacevic and Gawanke then most, but i wanna see them get a shot too.
Berdin (where is this guy btw) would probably clear waivers, but it seems odd to draft and develop a guy just to lose him before a legit NHL shot.

Personally I think Barron should be the 1 or 2C with the Moose.

I'm indifferent on the three young dmen, they all have their faults, Stanley looks like he'd need the perfect type partner for him to be stable on the 3rd pair. Samberg has been okay in the pre-season games but hasn't jumped off the page with his play and Heinola seems like a guy who for all he'll provide in puck movement and offense he'll cost you in penalties taken and getting pushed off the puck.
