Description

I've been thinking more and more that Washington is likely to play Protas to start the year in my opinion, considering that they could have sent him down for no charge and let him get 1st line minutes in Hershey while retaining one of AJF or Leason. I'd hope that he doesn't end up as a scratch, as while I loved how he played this preseason, Leason and/or AJF would have fit the bill just fine.

With this idea, I'd want Protas to start on line 1 as he played pretty well with Ovi and Kuzy last season and I assume Lavi may find a line that can communicate entirely in Russian to be interesting. It would also allow Brown to stay on a line with Strome, which would be nice to see them possibly further the great connection they seemed to have in preseason, and Mantha would be a nice compliment to them both. I'd have MCM at 3LW to start but possibly could shift over to 3C if Eller struggles at any point, and Oshie is a nice compliment to hopefully help McMichael to improve his finishing. 4th Line stays as normal.
