Just earlier I saw an AGM where M Reilly was used as a trade chip to obtain OEL. Had someone try to convince me I was an idiot for not realizing his value. But here we are dumping him with sweeteners lol

That OEL dump was dumb for more than just Rielly being involved. It also had the Canucks retaining 1.4 million on OEL and taking back coyle, who is a 5.25 million cap hit with the same term. Those two thing right there break the deal before you even include negative value Rielly

Personally i don’t think things have changed that much since when he was thought to have a mid to late pick value. He’s a solid player and I’m sure the bruins don’t want to lose him. The only reason he was put on waivers was that so the bruins could be as close to the upper limit as possible before putting mcavoy on LTIR. It’ was very much a paper transaction

Kane would be cool, but not really a need for either.
