Description
Distribute the offense a bit and reward JT with his old pal Marner

Basically

1st line is a blend of some do everything and give Matthews pucks
2nd line is 2018 with Robertson
3rd line is a return from last year that had some very good results
4th line is a annoying rattastic 4th line that hits, fights, and pissed of opponents

Dcore is just until a trade is made as maybe once Liligren comes back and a more physical presence like Benn comes in things will settle. And if not trade for someone

As to me I think the offense will pick up as the 5 on 5 stuff just feels unnatural and something that will improve.

    I'm all for putting Marner with JT but please tell me you're not serious about the top line. Those 2 guys have no business playing with Matthews

    Matthews does well with anyone

    Last year he played a game with Kerfoot as the RW and that line combined for 5 points

    Jarnkrok has played top 6 in the past for Nashville and SEA and like Kase could thrive in the role and give them a spark when guys like Marner and Nylander arent working

    This allows for the spread of offense as even if teams shut down the 3 they got a 3rd line with Willy to deal with

    I don't think Nylander would appreciate playing on the third line when he's doing well. They should just stack the second line with Nylander Tavares and Marner. Play Bunting with Matthews and Robertson. Third line Kerfoot, Kampf, and Jarnkrok.

    Nylander last year played 3rd line with those 2 near the end (he was struggling) and did very well. This in general is to spread the offense and honestly if they start scoring more I doubt he will care

    As in general the goal is to spread out the offense as last year keefe did it and it had good results with Mikheyev pushing Nylander to the 3rd line resulting in more 5 on 5 production

    He did do well on the 3rd line but the reason that he was demoted was either when he was in the dog house with Keefe or Line 2 was just not producing. So, to me I think that Nylander would feel like he never gets rewarded and only punished. I'm sure he feels like he's 4th wheel on the team, and I wouldn't be surprised if he walked away from the Leafs.

    Moving him to the 3rd line does help to spread out the offense, but at the end of the day, these depth players are supposed to be able to produce some but on their own.
