Holtz + 2023 1st + other assets is just way too much for Meier at this point in time.
For one I don't see Meier carrying that amount of value but I also don't think it's wise for the Devils to trade 1st rd picks in their current state, especially a 1st rd pick in one of the most stacked draft classes in the modern era of hockey.
Holtz alone should get pretty close to equal Meier's value, from there on the Devils shouldn't have to add much more than a B level prospect and a mid rd pick for Meier.

Holtz + 2023 1st would be good value for meier prolly. Devils are playing very well. By current state do you mean at the end of/near the end of the rebuild?

If Meier agrees to signing a *very* team friendly deal, maybe it is possible. But that AAV would probably have to be under $6m.
