Description
Signing Pyjama boy was the original rebuilding mistake. It set the bar too high for Marner and Matthews.

With a top 4 taking half of the cap space, all the depth skills, grit and defense that the fans now realize they need was squeezed out...

I could had also included, Kapanen, Johnsson, Brown, Mikheyev...

I'm sorry but this team is way better and would have won a round already.

Fire Keefe now and hire Trotz until the end of the season. Fire Dubas and Shanahan at the end of the season and promote Trotz.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Yep,this team looks better. But I kinda disagree that the Tavares caused the bloated signings of Marner and Matthews. Leafs could have just gone by comparable RFA signings and got them at a lower price, but for some reason, Leafs management paid a hometown premium for those two players.

I honestly thought this at the time and still do. They should have offered Tavares 8M to come home and play for his home team. If he didn't take it then they walk away and wish him the best.

The muzzin trade really helped LA out.

Muzzin needed to go at the time and boy has it panned out so far.

How was Kadri scapegoated? He was a key player on the team even if he played line 3, and got suspended twice in Toronto. So, they felt like they had to move him, in addition to the fact that the Leafs went out in the 1st round 3 times in a row at that point. Kadri did it again in Colorado the year after that. His contributions to the AVS Stanley Cup doesn't erase the past.
