Description
With the likelihood of Boston going into a rebuild/retool starting next season being relatively high, would Boston be willing to move Ullmark half retained? If so, how much would he cost? Is the offer I proposed fair? If not, how much more would need to be added/taken away?

Conditional 2024 2nd round pick: If Carolina wins the Stanley Cup in either 2024 or 2025, AND Ullmark plays in at least 60% of those playoff games, the pick is upgraded to a 2024 1st round pick or a 2025 1st round pick, depending on which year the Canes win the Cup. If the conditions are not met, Boston receives 2025 2nd round pick, and a 2025 5th round pick will be added as well.

Ooof. Well, you’ve got a couple issues here.

First up, I really doubt the bruins will be entering a full on rebuild. Even if bergeron and krejci retire, and pastrnak leaves (which seems unlikely), their best player is 24.

So, a pretty legit number one goalie, right side of 30, already on a good contract with two years of 50% retention….and you’re offering a second round pick? Are you serious? The bruins likely don’t want to move him, so the offer would have to be something that’s big enough to make them actually do it. Without the retention, probably starts at a 1st. With the retention, bundle up all those picks you mentioned, and offer that.

Not a Bruins fan, but agree. And that will depend on if Swayman finds his game this year.

But, in the event Bergeron and Kreji retire, I would say an Ullmark package involves Jack Drury and a 1st. Maybe not the thing Canes fans want to hear, but if Sweeney is thinking, that is the ask.... AT LEAST.

Swayman’s been fine this year, just injured.

Oh I know. I am expecting him to absolutely run this year. Not sure that happens when he gets back. Ullmark has been nothing short of fantastic. Stick with the hot hand.

Ya i think the model they’ve built is a true platoon, unless someone gets hot. Ullmark started the year pretty much on fire.
