They already have an abundance of C and forwards in general so someone needs to go to bring him in.

That offer probably gets beat if Toews is willing to go to other places. I would also be surprised if SEA is going after pending ufas as rentals, I could see them go after one that they hope to resign. It will be their first post-season appearance, so they might not want to give up assets before knowing what this team can even do.

Also, worth noting that they do have Gourde and Burakovsky which is something even if they aren't J Toews.

Hawks only accept this offer if Seattle is the only team Toews will waive for or it's the only offer they get. This is an underpayment for the 2022 version of Tazer after 22 games. He's been really good this season.
