Description
Following my last agm for the Coyotes I've realised that most of their bad contract end at the end of that season (Nemeth, Little, Kassian). I also realised that instead of Roy I've should've picked Walker on the L.A. trade since Roy is more usuful for the Kings.
With that being said and with the fact that most (95%) doesn't wants to play in Arizona, they're going to take 1 or 2 bad contract to get to the cap floor and to at least stay competitive. I think a team like Mtl could trade them Hoffman and Armia in the offseason because they want to give a spot for their young guys and since atm they already competitive a team like Seattle could trade Driedger to get some cap space.
Also with they own pick (around 5th overall) Arizona will probably select Michkov. Arizona is one of the teams that could be patient enough since Michkov contract in the KHL ends at the 2025-2026 season. At that time Arizona will probably play in they new arena and maybe just maybe Matthews who's from Arizona will be playing there.

Additional Details:
I feel like Mtl wants to get competitive asap and trading those two heavy contract will help so the young guys may make the team.

    Future consideration
Arizona needs to reach the cap floor anyways and getting 8M between Hoffman and Armia certainly helps.

After signing Caufield and Harris next summer, MTL will have 15M cap space. Unless they need more cap space, i don't see them paying to dump any contract.

Is that with Price back or still on LTIR? Next question is it possible that he returns?

There isn't a situation that could arise in the next 2-3 seasons where MTL even considers paying to move contracts.
