Description

Is this a 'hockey trade' at all? Wondering if it would make sense at all for the Leafs and/or San Jose to look at trading Rielly for Karlsson?

Anyone know how they compare with advanced stats?

The filler pieces (Robertson and Steeves) can be any picks or players besides the core 4.

San Jose would have to receive enough to be willing to retain $2 MIL and the Leafs would have to pony up enough to get another team to retain $1 MIL for 4 1/2 seasons. Marleau's $6.25 cost the Leafs a 1st.

This actually isn't a realistic trade offer, this is a hypothetical "would it make sense for one team or the other". Karlsson is older and owed a lot of money. Rielly is younger, bigger and owed less money.
