One would think Buffalo would quickly say yes to receiving Savoie, 2023 5th, and 2024 2nd for a forward they picked off of waivers.
Jost has really found a home in Buffalo and as usual Granato has brought out the best in him.
His 4 g and 9 pts in 24 games is nothing compared to how much better Olofsson and Mittelstadt have performed since that line was assembled.
I am not sure of waiver rules but players who are claimed off waivers must be offered to the other teams that placed an original claim before that player can be traded.
For example, if a player is placed on waivers and three teams place a claim on him. The team lowest in the standards gets first dibs. If they then decide to trade the player, he would first have to be passed on by the other two teams. If a team places a claim, he’d be theirs. If not, he can be traded.
So if other teams placed a claim he may not be eligible to be traded.
