Honestly what would it take to get Karlsson? It seems like this is the player that will help with scoring and defense at the same time. 3rd team would need to be involved to lower the AAV. Is it even worth the risk for the next 4 seasons, even though he is having an incredible season?

toronto has one of the best D cores they've seen in years, I don't think Karlsson is the move.

besides, I doubt SJS is willing to retain half his salary.
Use those picks to acquire top 6 scoring.

Karlsson is nearly 33 years old with 4 more years on his contract and for several years now he's been so bad he's basically untradable. Just because he's had a good half season doesnt make the rest go away, no dice

Karlsson isn't a consideration unless the Leafs can somehow move Rielly, which isn't a possibility.
