Description
Calgary gets extra cap space

St. Louis gets a young sniper in need of a change of scenery, as well as some picks in exchange for taking Bailey’s contract off our hands

The Islanders get another goal scorer, a good chance to make the playoffs and most importantly, a reason for their acquisitions to stay. Lucic as an experienced bottom 6 bruiser would at least add some depth too.

The Isles will accrue enough cap space by the deadline for this deal to work.

Credit to @Marcheezy and @joshelkin, I kind of combined your guys’ ideas.

That Blues deal is worse for us than the Horvat deal. The average age of this roster is like 33 lmao. Lets trade away our best u23 forward for an aging 31 year old pending UFA

The more I’ve seen of Wahlstrom, the more I think he hasn’t been a good fit for our system, even after Trotz left. If we can resign Tank and Bo, that bus us at least two years of contention before we have to consider rebuilding. Besides, Wahlstrom won’t be back from injury this year anyways.

The Blues aren't taking back Bailey for that, if at all.

Wahlstrom is a top 5 player on the team this season. I think these tales are from years of being brainwashed that young players aren’t reliable and can’t be trusted in key situations

That being said, I’m fine with the trade because the isles need to be humbled. Wahlstrom is already better than Tarasenko and will thrive on the blues.

You might not realize it now, but this era starting right now and through the decade will be worse than the Milbury years.

I’ve never seen anything like this isles era where fans are brainwashed into thinking that any old player is better than any young player. If we had Cole Caufield , isles fans would give him away for Corey Perry.
