Description
I know Vancouver fans will hate this, but this is such a Rutherford move. Spend money as soon as money opens up. Mikheyev goes to LTIR and Kapanen is brought in. He loves to make moves and then figure out the cap situation at a later date.

Minnesota has the space and Billy G is familiar with the player. Teddy could use a change of scenery and the price is minimal.

Seravalli reported that Barbashev contract talks are done and the team is moving on.

Bones is center depth who could easily fill in on the 3rd line and keep Carter at wing.

I honestly don't think we have the pieces or the space to realistically make a move I would "love". Barbashev is an upgrade from Kap and Bonino is an upgrade from Teddy and I think that's probably the best we can do in our terrible situation.

Rutherford does not consider his teams situation when making deals. I bet they have to keep stopping meetings because he saw something shiny outside the window

Yah, but Allvin and Rutherford aren't great thinkers. Considering they are pushing to move Garland either now or this summer, I wouldn't be shocked to see them trade for his replacement while they have space.
