Description
23-24 season

Left handed wingers vs right handed wingers comparison. Depth scoring is always important and injuries will happen, as we have seen, but the Wings have 8 left handed wingers and only 2 righties. I signed Bertuzzi to an short-term extension because many Wings fans thinks it's the best option. Left-handed players are much more common than right-handed players, but I think the "problem" here is that no one stands out. Personally I think that Berggren and Söderblom are the only ones that are here for the long term. Maybe Rasmussen as well.

What should we do?

It's a 66% of NHL l players are left handed. Kinda strange since the majority of MLB batters are right handed. Though it would better to have a "balance" of handiness, keeping the "best" players trumps handiness.

Mazur and Buchelnikov are also RH forwards to consider, as they will likely make it into the mix one day.

I think Yzerman really cares to have a good mix of RH guys, but sometimes you don't get that luxury to have a perfect 50/50 (or 66/34) mix without sacrificing signing (or drafting) a better player.
