If VAN is retaining on Myers they wont have to pay to move him to a bottom feeder.

Mantha is not an expiring contract and Garland is leagues better than Mantha. If the Canucks are moving Garland for Mantha, the Capitals are giving up a top prospect or pick.

It's gonna take more to move Myers contract to CHI. But i've heard there might be interest from some contender teams.

This ACGM is for NEXT season, so presumably this trade can wait until the summer -- i.e., AFTER Myers' $5 million bonus is paid and when there's only $1 million out the door in salary for the entire year. Therefore, (1) Vancouver won't have to retain a dime, and (2) Anaheim or Arizona or Chicago or whoever won't have to be paid much at all to take him on.

Oh yeah. That makes more sense. I read his salary structure wrong because I just skimmed over it quickly. I thought he was signed through the 24-25 season and that signing bonus was the 2024 summer. So, yeah, I could see it.
