You know more than I.
But at the time of the trade, several Boston ACGM's commented that he would do vere well in Buffalo and was an asset to the Bruins.
It is only a 7th, so the trade could be dropped and it would not make any difference.

There is a alternative here, NYR doesn't aquire Kane. And everyone can live happily together again
