Overpayment. No need to take back Nemeth when you can just plug Reilly into that spot, IMO. Adding Lysell & 2 1sts to JDB & Grzelcyk would probably get you on the phone for nearly any player in the league, even if they're later 1sts - JDB & Grz are not the type of players I would include in a deal as offsetting cap - if you really feel the need to move on from them, there are plenty of teams that would be willing to pay positive value for them and then you can just throw Craig Smith's deal into this pile instead.

This does make your cap situation next season incredibly tricky, though - $4.5M in cap carryover means you'll probably have just over $15M to re-sign Pasta & Swayman, and re-sign or replace Bergeron, Krejci, Foligno, Nosek, & Frederic.

Oh yeah it makes everything tricky! I was looking at gryz not being resigned and Debrusk making 5-6 mil on his next deal so I’d rather have Keller locked up for the next 5 years at 7 mil than pay Debrusk 6 mil. I just really want Keller to get out of ARI he’s too good and still only 24

Considering that Keller is likely the Yotes next captain, and is very likely to be a big piece of the core when they move to Tempe, Arizona is going to be asking for a bit more than that. Lysell and the 2 firsts are a good start, but Arizona would be giving up a long term cost certainty piece. We haven’t been able to see what Keller can do on a contending team yet, but with the numbers he has put up on bad Arizona teams, I don’t think Arizona takes this offer.
