Description
People are longing for Fiala. This imagines what we would look like this year with him. Trade values are not important here.

We'd have two lines that can score, a decent checking line and a completely untested 4th line.

So yes, the money works this year, but then next year we lose another 2M in cap space and have to accommodate Boldy 7x7M.

      Meier's cap space doesn't work for a lot teams next season without a team trading a big cap player (if they can).
      Two playoff contenders....Buffalo and Jersey could make it work. But if Meier is going to UFA contract next summer, why would teams give up so much assets just to acquire him....just sign a UFA this summer or nest.

      You're right, Doesn't seem to fit Waddell's strategy about "spreading the wealth", and losing future cap flexibility.

      True - but if they can get him around 8.5 it still fits the long term view and shouldn’t force us to let other parts of the core go in 2-3 years. They clearly are missing that one goal scoring component which patches seemed like the perfect fit for. Still sad about that.
