I know the team is playing great and people don't want to mess with the chemistry BUT could the team be better? In the offseason if Pasta does not resign for whatever reason then we offer Meier a deal if Pasta does resign then we let Carolina sign him and take the offer sheet comp for him and from what I've been seeing it's 7 years at 8.5 so that gives us back draft capital of 2 First Round Picks 1 Second Round Pick1 Third Round Pick. As a Boston fan I know it is a lot going the other way BUT I'm looking at two different things in this trade 1. Getting protecting/insurance if Pasta leaves but if he doesn't then we can get draft capital back. 2. Sharks still would have EK on the books for five more years and they are taking cap off our books.
